Veolia Transdev Ireland operate LUAS, Dublin’s light rail tram system on behalf of Railway Procurement Agency, the government agency with responsibility for Luas and other transport projects.

Previously known as Veolia Transport, it changed its name to Veolia Transdev in March 2011 following a company merger.

Part of a worldwide transport group we employ around 300 people in Ireland and transported 29.06 million passengers safely on Luas last year. Worldwide we operate in 27 countries, employ over 102,000 people and transport over 3.3 billion passengers annually.

Our group vision is to set the standard for managing safe and sustainable mobility solutions. We do this daily operating Luas and our colleagues internationally set the standard in many different types of transport systems from light rail to trains, taxi’s, boats, metro’s, coaches and buses.

As a transport group we are committed to excellent customer service and quality systems and here in Ireland we hold an ISO 9001: 2008 certificate. In addition to this GFK, a market research company conducted a mystery shop on Luas in May 2011 and over 96% of shoppers said they would recommend Luas as a travel option.

Quarterly we hold our own customer satisfaction surveys called Meet the Luas Manager. This involves management of Veolia Transdev and Railway Procurement Agency surveying Luas passengers and eliciting feedback. In 2010 the results of these surveys show customer satisfaction recording at 95%.

Being part of Veolia Environnement our commitment to the environment is an integral part of our transport vision, we demonstrate this in many ways and are proud as Luas operator to hold an ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Certificate.
